Hi, I’m Laurie Dufresne

Life Alignment Coach • Author • Creator of the Life Alignment Method™

I want to tell you something I don’t think gets said enough...

The woman you see now...

the one who does this work,
who shows up and helps others find their way...

she didn’t start here.

She started quiet.

Holding back. Second-guessing everything.

I’m a Life Alignment Coach, speaker, author, and creator of the Life Alignment Method™, a practical approach designed to help people step back, look at their life as a whole, and recognize where things may have quietly fallen out of alignment.

After more than 14 years of coaching and decades of my own personal growth, I’ve learned that feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or stretched thin is rarely about just one area of life.

Our health affects our mindset. Our home affects our peace. Our relationships affect our energy. Our priorities affect how we spend our time.

That’s why I created the Life Alignment Method™ around seven interconnected pillars: Foundation, Mind, Body, Home, Relationships, Community, and Purpose.

My goal is simple: to help you get clear on what matters most in this season, recognize what is no longer supporting the life you want to live, and make intentional changes that bring greater peace, clarity, and alignment.

My Journey From Self-Doubt to an Aligned Life

For the first three decades of my life, I lived with a lot of self-doubt.

I was the one who stayed quiet, replayed conversations afterward, and second-guessed what I said or didn’t say.

From the outside, my life looked good. I had my health, a wonderful husband, and amazing kids. But inside, it felt different. There was a quiet voice that kept whispering that I wasn’t enough.

And even though I was doing all the things I thought I was supposed to be doing, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more for me.

I used to pray for God to use me, to make an impact, and to help me discover the gifts He had given me. But at the same time, I was constantly comparing myself to everyone else.

I struggled to speak up because I didn’t believe anyone would really want to hear what I had to say.

Looking back, I can see that something inside me already knew there was a gap between the life I was living and the person I felt called to become.

The moment that changed everything.

My turning point came in motherhood.

As my daughter was growing up, I started seeing pieces of my own story showing up in her. She sometimes felt left out, unsure of herself, and more comfortable staying on the outside than stepping in.

And it broke my heart because I knew that feeling all too well.

One night, while talking with my husband, Gerrit, I felt a message so clearly in my spirit, almost as if God was speaking directly to my heart:“

If you want to raise extraordinary kids, you have to become extraordinary.”

That moment changed something in me.

Extraordinary didn’t mean perfect. It didn’t mean accomplishing more, proving myself, or becoming someone I wasn’t.

For me, it meant being willing to grow.It meant facing the things I had spent years avoiding, challenging the beliefs that had kept me small, and becoming more intentional about the woman I wanted to be.It didn’t happen overnight. It became a quiet, steady decision to do the work, to grow, and to step more fully into who I believed God created me to be.

Because I realized something I couldn’t ignore:

Who I became would shape what my children believed was possible for themselves.

What they saw at home would become part of what they believed was normal.

What started as personal growth became something much bigger.

That moment began a journey that would change nearly every area of my life.

I started reading, learning, attending workshops, finding mentors, setting goals that scared me, and doing the uncomfortable work of challenging the beliefs I had carried for years.

Little by little, I changed.

I became more confident. I learned to speak up. I began trusting myself and stepping into opportunities I once would have avoided.

But over the years, I discovered that real change went far beyond mindset.

The way I thought affected the choices I made. My choices affected my health, my relationships, my home, my priorities, and the way I spent my time and energy.

Everything was connected.

And as life continued to change, I began to understand something else:

What works in one season of life may not be what we need in the next.

Our children grow. Relationships change. Careers evolve. Our bodies change. We experience loss, new beginnings, unexpected challenges, and seasons we never could have planned for.

Sometimes the life that once worked for us simply needs to be reevaluated.

That’s when I began looking at growth differently.

It wasn’t just about becoming more confident or achieving another goal.

It was about learning how to recognize when something in my life was no longer aligned with what mattered most, and having the courage to make an intentional change.

What coaching hundreds of people taught me.

As I began coaching others, I started noticing the same thing in their lives.

People rarely felt stuck because of just one thing.

Someone might come to me wanting to improve their health, but underneath it we would uncover beliefs, habits, stress, or priorities that were working against them.

Someone else might want more confidence, but what they really needed was clarity about what mattered to them and the courage to make choices that reflected it.

And sometimes, people were simply exhausted from trying to keep up with everything.

Over the years, after coaching hundreds of people through different seasons of life, I began to see the same pattern again and again:

The different areas of our lives don’t operate independently. They affect one another.

When one area is struggling, we often feel the impact somewhere else.

And when we only focus on fixing the thing that feels the loudest, we can miss what is really underneath it.

I realized that lasting change requires us to step back and look at our lives as a whole.

Not with judgment.

Not with the expectation that everything should be perfect.

But with enough honesty to ask:

Does the way I’m living right now reflect what matters most to me?

That question changed the way I coached.

And eventually, it became the heart of the work I do today.

That's why I Created the Life Alignment Method™

The Life Alignment Method™ is a practical framework designed to help you step back, look at your life as a whole, and recognize where things may have quietly fallen out of alignment.

Because sometimes nothing is terribly wrong, but something still doesn’t feel right.

You may have a good life and still feel stretched thin. You may be doing all the things you’re supposed to be doing and still wonder why life feels heavier than it should.

Often, it isn’t because you need to completely change your life.

You may simply need to realign it.

The Life Alignment Method™ helps you look at seven interconnected areas of your life:

Foundation • Mind • Body • Home • Relationships • Community • Purpose

We begin with your Foundation: your beliefs, values, priorities, and what matters most to you in this season.

Then we look honestly at the other areas of your life and ask:

Is the way I’m living supporting what matters most to me right now?

Alignment isn’t about having every area of your life perfectly balanced.

It’s about knowing what matters, recognizing what needs your attention in this season, and making intentional choices that move your life back toward greater peace, clarity, and purpose.

Alignment isn’t about having every area of your life perfectly balanced.

I’m living this too.

One of the things I’ve learned is that alignment isn’t something we achieve once and then check off the list.

Life keeps changing.

The season I’m in today looks very different from the season I was in when my children were young, when I was building businesses, or when I first began this personal growth journey.

And with every new season, I’ve had to ask myself some of the same questions I now help others ask:

What matters most to me right now?

Where is my time and energy going?

What is working in my life, and what no longer fits this season?

Where have I quietly drifted out of alignment?

I still have to pause. Reevaluate. Make changes. Let go of things that once made sense and make room for what matters now.

That’s what I love about this work. The goal isn’t to create a perfectly balanced life where every area gets equal attention.

It’s to become aware enough to recognize when something needs your attention and intentional enough to do something about it.

Because as life changes, we can change with it without losing sight of who we are, what we value, and what matters most.

A Little More About Me

Behind the coaching, speaking, organizing, and all the work I love to do, I’m a wife, mom, and woman who deeply values faith, family, growth, and creating a life that feels meaningful.

I’ve been married to my husband, Gerrit, for 31 years, and we have two grown children, Alex and Nathan. Some of my greatest joy has come from watching our family grow and change through the years and learning to embrace each new season along the way.

My Christian faith is the foundation of my life and has shaped so much of who I am, how I love people, and the work I feel called to do.

I’m Lebanese, so family, gathering around the table, good food, and making people feel welcome are pretty much part of my DNA.

I’m also a professional home organizer, and I’ve seen firsthand just how connected our environment is to the rest of our lives. The spaces we live in can affect the way we feel, function, and experience peace every day. It’s one of the reasons Home became an important pillar of the Life Alignment Method™.

At the heart of all of it, I love helping people recognize what matters most, clear away what’s getting in the way, and create more room for the life they actually want to live.
